Retired K9 Lou

Lt. Lou, was the first K-9 officer with the York County Sheriff’s Office. 

The scent-tracking bloodhound came to the sheriff’s office as a puppy in March 2008 and was donated by the Jimmy Ryce Center in Florida. 

Lt. Lou was trained to track lost children, missing adults and criminals. Lt. Lou responded to over 140 requests during his active service.

Lt. Lou was also a key part of the York County Missing Child Task Force until his retirement in September 2017.
