Scott has more than 30 years of experience in both private and public sectors.
Prior to his election as York County Commissioner, he served as the Chief Clerk/Chief of Staff for the Dauphin County Commissioners; and, served as the Chairman of the Springettsbury Township Board of Auditors.
In the private sector, Scott spent 15 years in health services administration. He was a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in PA, WV and VA. His management experience covered hospital-based operations, stand-alone facilities; and a variety of ownership types.
Over the years, Scott has served on a variety of boards and committees, and he currently serves on the County Commissioners Association’s Assessment and Taxation subcommittee. He has extensive experience in project management, risk management and regulatory compliance.
Scott is a very active member of Shriners International serving on the Board of Governors for Shriners Hospital of Children-Philadelphia. His charitable fundraising efforts have generated thousands of dollars toward the care of children with orthopedic and burn needs in the mid-Atlantic region.
Academically, Scott has a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University -Institute of Technology and a master’s degree from Penn State Harrisburg, in Health Services Administration.
Scott lives in Springettsbury Township with his wife Joan and dogs Dolly & Porter.
Scott enjoys cycling and he is an avid snow skier and bagpiper with the York Kiltie Band.
