The York County Orphans' Court initiated a program to monitor guardianships under the Court's jurisdiction. The Orphans' Court has appointed certain attorneys as Monitors who are required to visit each Guardian and each Incapacitated Person at least once a year - more often if the Monitor deems necessary. Monitors serve Pro Bono and act as the "eyes and ears" of the Orphans' Court to monitor the well-being of the Incapacitated Person, as well as the state of their financial affairs, and report back to the Court.
Local attorneys who are interested in participating as a Pro Bono Guardianship Monitor should view the one hour video about the program.
