York County Recorder of Deeds offers a Veterans Discount Card Program, called Hometown Heroes. This program will provide a photo ID, FREE OF CHARGE to York County veterans who have their DD-214 honorable discharge papers recorded in the Recorder Of Deeds' office.
Please click here for a list of merchants currently offering discounts as part of the Hometown Heroes program.
A list of veteran discounts offered year-round by national businesses is maintained by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
This program has three major objectives:
- To say "Thank You" to those who sacrificially served our Country.
- To encourage those Veterans (who have not already done so) to secure their DD214s for safe keeping in the York County Recorder Of Deeds' office.
- And to promote the sponsorship of our outstanding local merchants supporting this program.
The Veterans Discount Card Program is a way for our community to express its gratitude and recognize the service and sacrifices made by our veterans. Participating merchants agree to honor the card by providing special discounts on purchases or services when presented with the Hometown Heroes Discount Card.
If you want to be one of these outstanding local merchants, please complete the Business Application (DOC).
The York County Recorder of Deeds Office is partnering with the York County Veterans Affairs Office to provide easy access and free parking to all Veterans recording their DD-214 documents.
